So this topic has turned into the complain category, but oh well. I cannot stand it when bikers ride their bikes in the streets, when there is a whole separate sidewalk dedicated to them. It drives me crazy! They obviously do not go as fast as cars, so why do they think they are so special? They disobey traffic laws, despite the fact that they are IN traffic. Also, its outright dangerous for them to be among the cars, without proper protection. Yes, you may have a helmet on, but if a car hits you, you don’t have the exterior of a vehicle to take the initial hit. YOU take that hit. It would be best for everyone if the bikers just stay on their sidewalk.

I definitely agree with you. This makes me very aggravated too. I don’t understand why the bike riders feel the need to drive in the road too. I am driven crazy when they weave in and out of traffic, or try and cut in front of oncoming traffic. This drives me nuts and makes me wonder why they feel the need to do this. Riding a bike in the road is almost asking to get hit. Considering so far there have already been lots of bike accidents with cars hitting them, they should choose to use the side walk for their own safety.
Earlier today this very thing happened to me on campus and it did make me a little pissed. I agree, there is a sidewalk for a reason! Then when i try to swerve out of the way or drive on the other side of the road another car is usually coming. I have no horn, so I basically have to yell ‘HONK!” at the biker. I’m glad someone pulled this subject up. I believe fines should be given to people that ride their bikes in the road. Not really, I’m just kidding.
